For weeks, months and years, Helena school board trustees have said that, come hell or high water, they would put forward a bond proposal that addresses at least some of the problems facing the community’s aging schools.
A proposal came Wednesday — finally, and unanimously — and so did the hell and high water.
After a meeting in which trustees were accused by some residents of shunning years of public input, fracturing the community and engaging in woeful ignorance and deceit, they voted 7-0 to call for a bond election by mail ballot on Oct. 7.
